New Zion offers several opportunities for outreach and service throughout the year, and hosts events that nurture friendships in our church family.

Mission Connections

Groups have gone on short term trips to serve at Beautiful Feet Ministries in Fort Worth, TX, and 7 Bridges to Recovery in Atlanta, GA. We have volunteered at local ministries like Broken Wings, where Pastor John serves as director, and the nearest branch of God's House of Hope, where he preaches on Sunday nights.

Blessing Box

We now have a Blessing Box on the property. It is intended to help those who have an immediate need. Members are encouraged to help keep it filled with non-perishable food items, personal hygiene items, Bibles, tracts, and inspirational books. There is a donation area in the fellowship hall for donations.

Food Ministry

Each Wednesday in March, New Zion members are invited to serve at the Choctaw County Baptist Association Food Pantry. We pack boxes, load vehicles, and pray for the people in the line. New Zion supports the food pantry year-round by collecting food items. Monthly suggested items are in the bulletin and there is a donation box in the church foyer.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is held yearly during the month of July. New Zion invites all ages to attend VBS from nursery aged children to 6th graders. Children participate in crafts, games, music and bible study.  VBS is an opportunity for children to experience the truths of God's Word with all five senses.

Fall Fest

Held in late October, with carnival games, treats galore, and a pizza supper, this is always a fun event. Everyone in the area is invited to attend. There's always a big turnout, so it's all hands on deck for NZBC members.

Christmas at New Zion

We have had all kinds of fun events during Christmas such as progressive dinners, potluck lunches, etc. Special music and children's hand bells are incorporated into the service. Youth parties include going somewhere to hand out Christmas gospel tracts. The children pack fruit baskets to deliver to the nursing home and those who are home bound.
