John Staszefski
Pastor
Pastor John and his beautiful wife, Cindy, were called to shepherd New Zion in January of 2018. They and their three girls, Mikayla, Savanna, and Jenna, are a true blessing to our church family.
Pastor John preaches the Word of God unapologetically with power and passion. His expository style sermons are packed with scripture and never fail to stir up our spirits to repentance and encourage spiritual growth. New Zion never knows what to expect from Pastor John when he uses illustrations. We have even had a fishing boat in the sanctuary. An avid hunter and fisherman, his anecdotes are very relevant to the people in our community.

Glenda Whittington
Traditional Worship Leader, Children's Church Director
​
Our traditional worship hymns are led by Glenda Whittington. She also leads the children's church portion of our Sunday service. Since 1974, Glenda has also faithfully served in many other positions as the Lord led her: music director, choir director, hand bells director, and as a Bible class teacher for various age groups. During her five years living in Pascagoula, Glenda served as a choir member and children's teacher at Ingalls Avenue Baptist Church.
Having retired in 2007 after 38 years of teaching in the public school system, she now has more time to devote to the church, her family, and community volunteer organizations.

God brought this team together in amazing ways, and they are grateful for the opportunity to lead worship for this loving church family. They also enjoy leading worship anywhere the Lord leads as a form of outreach and evangelism.
